HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO HELP BUILD OUR PEACE CORPS LEGACY
What are you doing with all your original records and photos from Peace Corps years in the Dominican Republic?
Did you know that the JOHN F. KENNEDY LIBRARY in Boston, Massachusetts wants them? They have a Peace Corps collection and invite suitable donations from us.
If you are like me, I have a box of all the letters I wrote home that mom saved, hundreds of slides, copies of a few early Volunteer newsletters, and a daily journal I wrote. Honestly, will my kids want these when I am gone? Probably they’ll eventually throw them out. However, for those few items and photos my family will want, I plan to digitize them for easy storage and use. The originals I plan to send to Boston to the Kennedy Library.
Now you and I have an opportunity to build an archive of our best DR records for future generations of researchers, historians, our kids, and descendants.
Please take a look at the guidelines HERE for donating to the Kennedy Library & Museum. Read them over and consider donating. Thank you.
Neil Ross, History Committee Chairman & FDR's Founding President
